| Abstract | No mês de junho de 2011 foram identificados cinco episódios de ciclones na América do Sul (AS) subtropical, através de um critério baseado na pressão ao nível médio do Mar. Desses cinco eventos, dois foram classificados como ciclones subtropicais e os demais como extratropicais, sendo que, quatro estiveram associados ao jato polar e apenas um ao jato subtropical (no caso de ciclone subtropical que iniciou no dia 07). Nos ciclos de vidas dos casos estudados, os ciclones apresentaram grandes mudanças em suas estruturas verticais, tanto no aspecto da espessura quanto do vento térmico. ABSTRACT: In June 2011 five episodes of cyclones in the subtropical South America (SA) was identified through a criterion based on the mean sea level pressure. Two of these five events, were classified as subtropical and the other as extratropical. Four cyclones were associated with the jet polar and just one to the subtropical the jet (the cyclone subtropical case that started on day 07). In the life cycles of the studied cases, the cyclones presented major changes in their structures in both thickness and thermal wind. |
